Destination Inspirations Events and Mentoring Program

Destination Riverina Murray and Murray Regional Tourism have partnered to deliver a series of five Destination Inspiration events across the Riverina Murray region in February and March 2021.

Each event is anchored by a panel of inspirational tourism operators who have done exceptional things in the industry. The operators will share their stories and deliver key insights, lessons and learnings to inspire participants to create new or enhanced visitor experiences for the region.

The events will be followed by a 6-month mentoring program for up to 15 participants with hands-on support to build the capacity and capabilities of tourism businesses towards the development of new visitor experiences. Tickets are $40 and are now on sale for the locations below:

Destination Inspiration Events and Mentoring Program - Expression of Interest


Participants at the Destination Inspiration event series who want assistance to advance their ideas are invited to apply for a
one-on-one mentoring program. The 6-month program will be facilitated by Karen Oliver of KO Tourism and will have spaces for up
to 15 participants. The program is designed to accelerate the product development process and progress ideas into new or enhanced
experiences for visitors to the region. The program will run from May until November 2021 and will follow the format below.


  • New or existing businesses seeking to launch a tourism product in the Riverina and Murray regions in NSW and Victoria.
  • It must be a new tourism product or a significant change/expansion of an existing product.


Bachelor of Commerce – Management (Honours), University of Melbourne

Karen is a Tourism Consultant specialising in regional tourism industry development. Over nearly 10 years she has undertaken numerous industry development projects and supported 60+ tourism businesses with their Victorian and NSW Tourism Awards submissions.

She has extensive experience working with tourism operators, local government, regional tourism boards and state government to improve outcomes for both businesses and visitors.

Living and working in Regional Victoria, Karen is passionate about the success of regional tourism and is excited to be supporting tourism innovation in the regions.
